Afghanistan - Page 1 | 2

In early September 2005, I flew to Afghanistan to the cover the September 18th Parliamentary elections and their aftermath. I intended to stay for a month, but ended up staying for three months (leaving Afghanistan at the end of November). During my stay, I was embedded with the Canadian troops for a short period at Camp Julien, in Kabul and at the Kandahar Airfield (KAF) and the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), in Kandahar. When not embedded, I lodged in hotels and guest houses. My reason for going to Afghanistan was to inform Canadians about the situation in Afghanistan, and how the allies  and the Afghan people were surviving and progressing (or regressing), since the overthrow of the Taliban in 2001.
